Trolley time.
Starting today you can take the Riverside Trolley for free from the Five Points area to downtown for lunch. The trolley runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm (first trolley leaving Riverside is at 10:44am). After May 16th the ride will cost you 50 cents each way.

Why don't they have a route map?
As our friends at MetroJacksonville remind us, this isn't real public transit. Don't settle for this, Riverside! You can have more. This city needs more and deserves more. But show your support, nonetheless. There is no excuse for you to drive for that Burrito, ya hear? I'll be out on my red bike patrolling...

Things like this really chap my rear end. I mean, honestly, COJ thinks we're all idiots. They want to make the appearance of doing good for the city and "experimenting" with public transportation in the core, so they offer a trolley service from Riverside to Downtown and vise versa...but they offer it during the hours that NO ONE WILL USE IT!!! Come on! Especially when gas prices are soaring and more than a few people are starting to get hit significantly in the wallet, even a minor gesture from the city would go a long way. Something small like offering the trolley from 7-10am and 3-6pm. You know, the times that any normal working man/woman would actually use it. I bet they would be hugely surprised at the ridership numbers if they did. ok, I'm done ranting now. :-|
