A Garden.

LISC is kind enough to let me claim service hours for working in the community garden started by the Jacksonville Carbon Neutral Initiative. I haven't had much opportunity to do so recently. Philip Ramsey has been doing a lot of the work, and has managed to gather a solid group of new volunteers (including some other Americorps volunteers!).

The garden is coming along very well. The first set of beds has been quietly growing lettuces, broccoli, radishes and thyme for a few months now. We harvested a few pounds of delicious redleaf lettuce just last weekend.













Philip is working on building the next beds, but if you're interested in gardening please get in touch. You can help us build a plot for you (which will speed up the process), and we even have a ton of seeds to get you started.
